Therapy Shouldn’t Feel Like One More Storm You Brace Against
When you log on to a session with me, you can leave the “perfectly fine” armor at the door.
No cold, sterile checklists.
No stiff clinical lectures.
Just a warm, grounded, deeply compassionate space where your guard can finally come down.
Together we’ll look at the hard stuff, sorting through the clutter in your emotional backpack without a shred of judgment.
And yes, we’ll welcome laughter into the room, because real healing takes both raw honesty and a little bit of light.

Build the Tools to Stay Steady When Life Shifts
You won’t be asked to pretend the hard things disappear or to wish your way into magical sunshine.
This work grows your capacity to weather whatever rolls in.
When you log on, you’re an active partner, not a passive observer waiting for the clouds to part.
Together we’ll build the exact tools you reach for when the weather turns.
Tools to catch yourself before a spiral takes hold.
Tools to set boundaries that protect your energy.
Tools to stay in the driver’s seat of your own internal landscape, so your emotions serve you instead of running the show.
Bring Your Whole Self, Laughter Included
Serious, meaningful clinical work doesn’t have to feel rigid or stuffy.
We can hold space for the heavy moments with absolute respect and still let real laughter in.
Some of my clients would call it world-renowned.
Healing asks for honesty and lightness in the same hour.
So we’ll connect as two real human beings and get you into a steadier, brighter season of life.

About Rachelle Baerman-Skief, LCSW
For as long as I can remember, people have gravitated toward me, sharing their stories and their most vulnerable moments in the times they needed an anchor.
This work has always been more than a job to me. It’s a calling: helping people build real resilience and find steadiness from the inside out.
I’ve weathered my own divorce and my own sudden life shifts, so I know firsthand what it feels like to search for a break in the clouds. Believing that therapists need therapy too, I’ve done plenty of my own work from the client’s chair.
You won’t find a cold, robotic blank slate here. I show up as a real person who has been out in the weather herself, ready to sit in yours alongside you.
A Little About My Training
I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Michigan State University and my Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University, and I’ve been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for more than 25 years.
My structured foundation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and I fold in restorative breathwork and energy cleansing techniques when they serve the work.
Honestly, I could not care less what your diagnosis says on paper. I care about you, the whole human on the other side of the screen.
Sessions happen entirely online through secure, HIPAA-compliant video, with clients located in Michigan or Florida.
When I Step Away From the Screen
When I step away from the clinical screen, my favorite way to recharge is soaking up quality time with my grown daughter and son. Moving to Florida has been a true gift for our family.
Having easy access to a nearby beach or a pool has completely soothed my soul and given us a beautiful backdrop to connect.
I also find immense joy in trying vibrant new foods, which always invigorates me, and most importantly, leaning into good, deep, laughing connection sessions with my best friends. Cultivating those moments of lightness, water, and laughter is a massive part of how I maintain my own inner sunshine.
